Total Mission Pic/World Cup trials/Sac mtg talk

If i could shave my head [in support of his 3 yr old neice, Ashton, who is undergoing chemotherapy for cancer] I would but I cant however  Ashton has all the prayers I can ever give her though and I hope she can feel the love that I have for her.

I am really sorry to hear about Toby, thats sad he was a really good dog, but im glad hes not suffering anymore.

As for this past week, it was interesting, yesterday when we were in the streets at about 4 oclock, we were startled to hear everyone in their houses just start screaming.  Then the startled feelings quickly went away and we got very scared because we had to start dodging fireworks that people were celebrating with [Argentina won their next soccer game and they continue to advance to the World Cup finals]. We were able to find a member that doesnt like soccer and chilled with them until the game ended. This Saturday they are going to play Germany (whom, during the last World Cup they were eliminated by, so everyones looking for revenge) Its also going to be complicated because a lot of people look at me and my last name and ask if I'm German.  So this week I will be telling lots of people how American I am....and since the USA is out of the runnings.... "Go Argentina!"

Yesterday I had to give another talk.  I gave it on missionary work and how the members need to help the missionaries.  I thought it went pretty well. The bishop came up to me afterwards and said that he thought that was just what the members needed--a talk like that.  So I think it went pretty well.

This past week I got my flight plans and it said I was supposed to tell you everything about it but you knew before me so I dont think I need to repeat it.  It also said to make sure we set up a time with the stake president so i can be released when i get home. Other than that, people keep telling how little time I have and I keep saying "yup", but it doesnt feel like im going home yet, its kinda wierd.

Hope everythings going well over there.  I love you guys so much, and am praying for you every day.

p.s. btw the computer doesnt want to accept my camera so ill see if i can find another cyber.   But today we went to La Plata and visited the largest catholic cathedral in South America.  I took a bunch of pics to so I'll try to get those off soon.

p.s.s. And btw if you wanted me to buy soccer jerseys for everyone they cost about 15 dollars each. You can order them on ebay maybe for cheaper and probably better quality because these ones are all nockoffs. but ya about 15 each. Just let me know.

p.s.s.s  Here is the last picture of the all of the missionaries with the Asay's.  I got it off of Elder Jones' email he just sent.

Last transfer--Staying in Claypole with Elder Roy/Soccer craze/Last day with Pres & Sis Asay & Bro & Sis Fitz

Yes today was transfers and I'm staying with Elder Roy. Today we were all together in transfer meeting and my group all started talking about how fast time has flown. It has gone by really fast and doesnt really feel like its going to end. This past week was pretty crazy with Argentina winning it's soccer games at the World Cup and everything going on.  The Argentine people are going crazy. Ive been enjoying the different culture of people going crazy for soccer. In spite of it, this week we had a little success going with members and helping the ward members. We also found a lady named Fanni who is progressing nicely, so we will see how that goes. As to answer your questions about who and if the little pigs [guinee pigs] are common  in Elder Velazques country... the answer is yes and they are one of his favorite foods in Peru.  He had a member in his ward kill the things although his companion and I wanted to do it.  However, it was probably better that way cuz I probably would have backed out at the last second. The pics of St George look great and it looks like everyone is having a great time. The poop pics are from Sunday--A family played a joke on me and my companion.  They put that hidious thing in the middle of the fruit for desert and I almost threw up, it was so nasty.

Other than that, today was the last day we are going to be with President Asay and Sister Asay, and Bro and Sis Fitch. I cant believe they are going.  It was an emotional meeting and wow i just cant believe they are leaving. Im really grateful for the service they gave and for the love they showed for us. Definitely the best mission president and wife and finance/secretary. The Fitchs live close to UVU and I plan on visiting them every once in a while, along with Pres and Sis Asay.  A total mission picture of everybody was taken today.  We will just have to wait to get a copy of it.

Hope it was a great week for everybody esspecially the fathers.

New investigators!...and then the World Cup came/ Eating guinee pig

Ashton and the rest of the family are all in my prayers.  Keep the faith strong, its a rough situation but I know she´ll be ok because she's strong.  I cant wait to see her soon.

This week started off really great-- On Monday we were able to take out 3 new baptismal dates, and we found a really great new family. So that was a great start of the week but then the weekend rolled around and everything stopped when it was Argentina's turn to play in the World Cup in South Africa.  Well they played and won 1-0... but that wasnt the end of the people being unreceptive.  They... and when I say "they" I mean investigators AND members wouldnt let us in.  The World Cup started and businesses shut down, and the streets were empty.  It was incredible! I couldnt believe how fast everyone got inside, and from then on we just heard shouts from inside houses and fire works and a whole bunch of stuff.  Then the game ended and the partying started.  It was crazy!  It made the work hard but it could have been worse... apparently the U.S. tied England which was a pretty big deal here cuz everyone says the States are terrible at soccer and England's amazing so that made me feel good about my country.

As for wierd things I ate this week...Well we ate with Elder Velazquez again and he made a special dish for Elder Stienkuhlers B-day. Ya...and guess what we ate....... GUINEE PIG!  I have to send you the pics because they are nuts!  I'll try to find another cyber that will let me send pics later on in the day. I didnt really like it that much the skin was too chewy.

As for the investigators  we found...One man named  Jorge and his wife let us in to teach his kids but Jorge pretty much took over the lesson (this was a contact btw) and taught our lesson!  I was like, "Wow where did you learn all that?"  He said he had listened to the elders a while back and read the Book of Mormonn and thought it was a book of God, so we happily talked more with him and his son Christian 17 and his nephew 24.  It was a great lesson and we are excited to go back.

Love you all so much and i will send pics today...I have a bunch.

World Cup is coming/ Cows heart/Testifying

Thanks for the email and the pics.  I've really enjoyed them. As for the work and teaching, its going great.  We have found some new investigators and hopefully we´ll baptize this transfer.  I will be really bumbed if we don't.  I'm on a roll of 4 baptising transfers and I want to finish with a couple more baptisms. The girls are so cute, and hey whats going on with Ashton? Did the results come in???? I fasted for her and felt really good about it but hey whats the deal?  Nat didnt say anything in her email.

As for time in Chicago, just give me a couple days at least before we leave... it doesnt have to be a whole week but a couple days please.

As for the Argentine 200 year old party...that passed a while ago...the 25th of May or something. It made the work a little harder but that was only a taste of what we are about to get  coming up this Friday... dun dun dun.... the World Cup begins and people here are absolutley crazy when it comes to the World Cup.  Its like the Super Bowl, NBA finals and World Series all mixed in one then multiplied by four cuz it only happens every 4 years. Its gunna make things interesting.

As for interesting things that happened this week, I ate cows heart and it was actually really good.   I was surprised... I took pics but the computer isnt letting me upload them, so hopefully next week.

I had to give the class in church yesterday and it was kinda like my talk all over the place but in the end... not all bad.

And poor Toby!  You guys should just put him under.  He looks clean in the pics but he looks so old.  I wouldnt be devestated if you put him to sleep before I get home. Thats really crazy tho that someone cut his leash... crazy Wisconsin people!

I must say I'm excited to get back to computers that dont have a million and a half problems.

This past week we taught a lady that was really dificult--very set in her ways, but it was a good lesson.  I dont think I've ever testified so much. In the end I felt the spirit and i hope she did to. I reall enjoy doing this every day.  It's getting kinda wierd that everyone is telling me how I'm going home and stuff.  It seems like they are more excited than i am. I think I was that way also when I had less time. But its good stuff cuz i know what im doing is right and that the lord will bless us for it. I was looking through some of my old notes the other day and got to when I was at the mtc when pres Uchtdorf came.  I had forgotten he left his apostolic blessing on us there that our families would be ok in the time we are here. I remember being very relieved cuz of that.

I love you all
